WELCOME to Every MOVE Counts!

Can you think of a child or adolescent who wants to complete 20 push-ups or run on a treadmill? Getting children engaged in health-related fitness activities can be a daunting task for educators, after-school activity directors, recreation specialists, and even parents. However, fitness activities do not have to be monotonous, dull, or uneventful. No longer will children or adolescents sit sedentary, by playing the Every Move Counts’ activities they will forget that they are exercising.

This CD is an accumulation of health-related physical activity resources. All of the movements can be performed alone or in small groups. There are 10 categories of movements in which you can combine and sequence to create your own exercise routines.

GET UP, GET ACTIVE, EVERY MOVE COUNTS!

Special Thanks

I would like to thank several individuals: to the students at James Madison University for playing the games and activities, to Teresa French and Josh See at CISAT Creative Services for their invaluable expertise on the design of the CD and logo, to Danielle Sammler for helping to create the images, to Kelly Blair and Amanda Kelly for reviewing the content, to Vanessa Wigand for her advice and assistance, to Dr. Jacqueline Williams for listening and critiquing my ideas, and to Scott, Kendall, Alex, and Anna for your love and support. I could not have done this project without you.
