Jump Rope Bingo
To play this activity, each student needs a JR Bingo Card, a dry erase marker, and music. (Students can be with a partner.) The teacher needs to have a 20 sided die. (If you do not have a 20-sided die, you can print the page of numbers 1-20 that is located on the Extras page). Print the JR Bingo board on cardstock and laminate the boards so they can be used over again.
- A teacher would want to inform the students that they will be jumping different jump rope moves every 30 secs with a 15 sec rest period between jumping periods. For example, if the teacher rolls a 6 the students would find the number 6 on their Bingo card and begin jumping that move. When the teacher says stop the students would stop jumping and listen for the next number to be called.
- As the students are waiting for the next number to be called, they mark the square. After a 15 sec rest period the teacher calls another number and the students begin jumping the move listed in that square.
- The students can try to get the spaces in a row across, down, or blackout (all spaces are marked). The student yells ‘BINGO’ when they complete one of the above.
- Modification: A student would only be able to mark the square if they did not miss while performing the move. If they missed they would continue to practice that move but would not be able to mark the square.
