The Navy will accept a college student as early as 2nd semester of sophomore year, and will provide a stipend to accepted students of $2500/month with OCS and the beginning of the 5-year commitment. Eligibility for the G.I. Bill where, for $1000 invested up front, the military will provide up to $25,000 support toward schooling after your term with the military finishes. Finally, with the Navy nuke program behind you, your training will leave you only a few courses away from a Master's degree in nuclear engineering.
