Mission

The Iraqi American Higher Education Foundation (IAHEF) works toward revitalizing, advancing and sustaining Iraq’s higher education system.

Goals

Our efforts are directed toward achieving the following goals:

  1. Advocating collaboration, cooperation and partnership between universities, educational institutions, scientific entities, and professionals in Iraq along with their counterparts in the U.S.;
  2. Promoting faculty, student, administrator and staff training, along with curriculum development, through exchange programs, sabbatical leave, joint research projects, short-term courses, graduate studies and fellowship programs;
  3. Facilitating admission of Iraqi students to US universities and American students to Iraqi universities.

Background

The Iraqi American Higher Education Foundation (IAHEF) is registered in the United States as a non-profit, 501(C)3 corporation (application pending), working toward revitalizing the higher education system in Iraq, and toward facilitating improved international cooperation with the Iraqi higher education system.

The Foundation was established by a coalition of Iraqi-Americans academics and other interested professionals with the purpose of fostering cooperation between Iraqis and non-Iraqis in promoting its mission. The Foundation is non-partisan, non-sectarian and non-ethnic, and is not affiliated with any other organization, government or political party.
