James Madison University Wordmark

Join Us!

Join us on the beautiful campus of James Madison University for a week-long celebration of Earth Day 2008!  From April 13th – 19th, tell us what Earth Day means to you, listen to the stories and experiences of others, and engage in activities to learn what you can do to protect our planet’s resources.  Highlights of the week’s events include:  a GO GREEN Ride and Drive Expo, “hands-on” learning stations for kids, a 3-D visualization theatre presentation of the Earth, a free community light bulb distribution sponsored by Wal-Mart, and a music festival featuring area bands.

For further details about these exciting events and more, refer to the Earth Week agenda below or at www.cisat.jmu.edu/earthfest2008.  Visit http://www.jmu.edu/map/ for a map of the JMU campus and call 540-568-2766 with any questions.  Earth Week events are a collaborative effort provided by the Center for Energy and Environmental Sustainability (CEES), JMU Green, Laughing Dog, Wal-Mart, Q101-FM, EARTH, SHENAIR, SDS, Chanello’s Pizza, CCM, and UPB.  All activities are free and open to the community.  So grab a friend or bring the kids.  We promise—going green has never been more fun!
